The battery is Lithium Ion, Rechargeable. The battery is rechargeable but not user replaceable. 

Your AED is powered by dual rechargeable batteries that charge at the same time through one USB port. One battery powers your screen and connectivity functionalities, which lasts 5 months on a full charge, and the second battery powers your life-saving AED - it lasts up to 8.5 months before it gets low.
