At this time, the Avive Connect AED can only connect to password-protected WPA/WPA2 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. The network password must be entered on the user interface of the device.
When connected to Wi-Fi, the devices communicate over Ports 443, 80, and 123.
We recommend using a Wi-Fi network with your Avive Connect AED for improved bandwidth and to avoid inconsistent Cellular coverage.

Do I need Wi-Fi for my Avive AED to work?
No, you do not need to be connected to Wi-Fi or cellular to use your AED in an emergency.
We do recommend connecting your device to a Wi-Fi network as it offers enhanced location information, faster remote software updates, and more reliable syncing with your REALConnect Platform.
How do I add a Wi-Fi network to my Avive Connect AED?
Each Avive Connect AED comes with cellular, GPS, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Adding a Wi-Fi network is a good practice since it will allow you to access the device's full feature set, including enhanced location information and a better battery life.
You'll know if your AED is connected to Wi-Fi by viewing the icons at the top of the screen.
Setting up Wi-Fi on your device:
Step 1. Power on your device's screen by pressing the black display button.
Step 2. Next, navigate to the "Settings" menu item on the screen.
Step 3. Select "Wi-Fi" and making sure the Wi-Fi toggle is green for ON.
Step 4. Your device will automatically search for available networks and display the options in a list. Select the network you'd like to connect to, enter the password when prompted, and press "Join."
Setting up Wi-Fi for your devices remotely in REALConnect™:
Note: Your devices must be operating on Connectivity Software Version 2.5 or above to receive Wi-Fi credentials remotely. Only users with Administrator permissions have the ability to add fleet-wide Wi-Fi networks.
Step 1: In REALConnect, navigate to Organization Settings > Fleet Settings > and scroll down to view Wi-Fi Settings.
Step 2: Click the blue “Add Networks” button, enter the Network name and password, and select “Save.” You can add up to 15 Wi-Fi networks remotely. Your devices will automatically connect to the nearby network with the strongest signal.
Step 3: To receive the Wi-Fi credentials, your devices must sync with REALConnect™, which should happen during your devices’ next nightly self tests. Allow at least 24 hours for your devices to receive the Wi-Fi credentials. To sync your settings right away, navigate to the “Your Device” menu on the screen of your device and press “Sync Now.”
What are the basics for my IT Department?

Connecting to Wi-Fi*
We recommend using a Wi-Fi network with your Avive Connect AED for improved bandwidth and to avoid inconsistent Cellular coverage.
To connect the AED to Wi-Fi, use the touchscreen to navigate to Settings, then select your desired Wi-Fi network.
The Avive Connect AED can connect to password-protected WPA/WPA2 Wi-Fi networks. A password must be entered on the user interface. When connected to Wi-Fi, the devices communicate over Ports 443, 80, and 123. For Wi-Fi network configurations that control access to specific web addresses, contact Avive for the list of web addresses that are required for uninterrupted connectivity.
Please note that location data is improved by connection and/or proximity to Wi-Fi networks with unmasked MAC addresses. If the security settings for Wi-Fi networks mask MAC addresses, the Avive Connect AED will rely on cellular or GPS to report the AED’s location.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Avive Connect AED does not require Wi-Fi, Cellular, or any other communication to provide its lifesaving medical treatment. The AED will be able to provide instructions to a user on how to use the device, analyze a patient's heart rhythm, and deliver defibrillation to that patient in cardiac arrest regardless of its connectivity status or lack thereof.
